June 20th, 2009

After taking a week off last week to look for a new home (yes, we are moving this summer. ack!), I’m back this week with a new kit, Aargh! My boys LOVE to dress up in their pirate costumes with Mommy’s boots and run around the house searching for treasure and looking for scallywags to fight. Apparently, their delight in pirates rubbed off on me, and Aargh! was created. Be sure to grab it today while it is 20% off at PM or SSD!

Join us each Monday for the next four weeks four our annual Miscellany Monday Recipe Card Swap! Each Monday, we’ll have a different theme for the recipe card.

Your challenge is to create a 4×6 sized recipe card using any designer of choice as long as you follow the weekly theme. Post your recipe card to your favorite gallery, post a link to your card in the comment section of the blog and then email your original full sized recipe card to wildblueeyez at comcast dot net

At the end of each week, LuAnn will zip and email all of that week’s themed recipe cards to each participant for that particular week. Join in on the challenge all four weeks and collect a TON of new recipe cards. How cool would it be to give these recipe cards as a gift to at a bridal shower?

Here are our themes for the month:

May 11 - appetizers and desserts
May 18 - soup and salad
May 25 - slow cooker and grill
June 1 - Main course and side dishes

We can’t wait to see your cards!

Enjoy these latest yummy recipies and get your cards in…don’t forget to leave us your e-mail so we can get the collection to you.

Smorgasboard Sunday May 31st

May 31st, 2009

holy moly, is it really the end of May already? The year seems to be flying by! Warmer weather is upon us for the most part.

June will be a quiet month here on the Miscellany blog, to gear up for some fun stuff come to July.

Now on to the goodies …

Penny has a FABULOUS kit out called Zoom!
Zoom!
If you have boys, you know that they are almost all about the cars - racing them, crashing them, collecting them. I know in my house with 1 girl and 3 boys, the cars outnumber any other toy in the toyboxes. Penny released this kit as I was in the process of packing and moving, so I hadn’t had a chance to play with it yet, so I decided to create a fun little QuickPage for you all. It was such a fun kit to play with! The elements are all so realistic!
Zoom QP
Download link has expired! Hope you managed to grab it in time!!

Thanks for stopping by today, hope you all have a wonderful June!!

Week 3 - Penny’s Recipe Round Up!

May 26th, 2009

It’s time for Week 3 of Penny’s 2nd Annual Recipe Round Up!  This week our theme is slow cooker and grilling recipes.  So whether you have all day to cook (or my favorite secret weapon of the kitchen - a slow cooker) or you have a few minutes to throw something on the grill - we’ve got you covered with good eats!

To participate all you have to do is create a 4″ x 6″ recipe card with your favorite recipe on it (we’d love it if you’d use Penny’s designs but it’s not a requirement).  Place a link to your card in the comments below, so we can leave you some love, and then e-mail your completed cards to LuAnn at wildblueeyez at comcast dot net.  LuAnn will take all the cards submitted each week and put them in a file to send back out to each of the participants.  It’s a great way to build your recipe library, cheaper than a cook book and they make great gifts!!!!  LOL!
